Cheree` Hammond received a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Virginia and an MA and Ed.S. in Counseling Psychology from James Madison University. More recently she completed a certification in Mindfulness and Psychotherapy from the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy. Her counseling experience includes work with children and adolescents and their families, with an emphasis on children. Cheree’s counseling, teaching and research interests include multicultural intervention, contemplative psychotherapy and supervision practices. Prior to accepting a position at EMU, Cheree` served as a graduate instructor at James Madison University’s Counseling Psychology program. Cheree` enjoys yoga, meditation and watching sci-fi with her husband, Scott, and two children, Adriana and Neil.
